THE BAND
Irish singer/song writer “Damian Cullen” moved to London in search of fame & fortune only to find the streets was not paved in gold. In the fall of 2009 & disenchanted with the present state of the music scene in London, Damian Cullen decided to move to Helsinki. He rounded up musicians & made his debut show at the Seasons of Sounds Festival in Helsinki on New Year’s Day 12:15pm 2010.
“A true punk rocker” stinking of angst, attitude with a style that contains more glamour than any top shelf dirty magazine, Damian is armed with what can only be described as classic rock anthems (Shangrila America/ Supersonic/ You’re an angel & I don’t wanna play house) that bite deep into the bone! The songs that he writes are foot stompin’ with melodies, hooks & great lyrics.
To get his music heard & seen Damian, edited & produced videos: Shangrila America/ Supersonic/ You’re an angel & Turn the lights down low. In less than one year Damian Cullen built up a great following all around the globe due to the internet and gained thousands of viewers & listeners. . Damian was exceptionally booked on several festivals in Finland and Estonia during the year 2010
The following year 2011 Damian Cullen brought out an official single and a video titled "Popcorn Girl" with an additional bonus track “I'm ok”. First edition of the CD single was sold out in advance and the digital sales put him & his band on the top of many individual store charts.
“Misty Fingez," guitarist, appointed himself in charge of all finances, acting manager & booking agent, he booked Damian to appear on some off the best clubs and coolest festivals in Finland, also had Damian debuting in Germany with a sold out venue.
2012. It was time to get rid of all the session and live musicians. Pekko & Damian made a great songwriting team & also wrote & arranged a little ditty entitled “The story of my life” together. It was time to record but, Heidi Meri had to quit the band & move away & study at college. She was replaced by Eric Jacobi from Denmark. A debut Damian Cullen Band “Paved with good intentions" E.P was made: The story of my life/ Wonderland/ I don’t wanna play house & a 60’s classic It’s cold outside (by the Choir was covered).
